about us

YOU WILL BE AMONG FRIENDS

This has been our motto for many years. We find it an opportunity and a privilege to meet new people. If you are visiting or looking for a church home, please feel free to stop by. If you are interested in uniting with this part of God’s people, please call the Church office. We, the Session of Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church of McCalla, Alabama, reaffirm our belief in the Holy Bible as the authoritative and divinely-inspired Word of God. In our decision-making, we pledge to be guided first by the Bible and then by the Books of Order and Confessions, as currently written and ratified by the congregations of the Presbyterian Church. Furthermore, the Session recommits itself and the congregation to continuing its focus on the mission and evangelism work of the Church.

ONE CONGREGATION, MANY PEOPLE.

We loved Christ and ministered in His name for more than 125 years at FPCB before we felt a calling to refashion our ministry. The location has changed but the telling of the old, old story of Christ’s love for all has not changed.

OUR MISSION

Magnify God.
Make Disciples.
Meet Human Need.

OUR VISION

To reach the greater McCalla community and expand the Kingdom of God by displaying the love of Christ and connecting with people of all walks of life through our creative services, discipleship, and outreach.

OUR PURPOSE

To be a community of Christ followers who:

Worship in spirit and in truth (John 4. 23)

Teach the Word of God (2 Timothy 3. 16-17)

Nurture one another for growth (Romans 12.10)

Bond to support one another in joy and need (Philippians 1.7-8)

Disciple those who don’t know Christ (Matthew 28.19-20)

And serve in mission in the community (Matthew 25.31-46)

We firmly believe in and uphold the Essential Tenents and Confessional Standards as written by ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians.
